Fan of the comics and the MCU. Massively overhyped movie. Has great emotional scenes and epic scenes, but the plot has as many holes as Quicksilver was left with. The time travel rules make no sense. Hulk and Dr. Strange do nothing in the final battle despite being two of the most powerful heroes in the movie. Thanos is stronger without the Gauntlet which makes no sense. Thor got screwed over. Overall very messy underwhelming movie.

Before i start i just want to tell all the angry so called 'fanboys' that i have read a lot of the comics and watched all Marvel movies since 2008. So please try to respect anothers opinion and listen to what i have to say.
Ok, so i really loved but also hated this movie at the same time. I thought it started beautifully with showing all the loss and the devestation of Thanos. But i already took an issue with the placement of the music in certain scenes. They put in mediocore 'sad music' in scenes that didn't need music at all. A lot of times when you want the audience to pay attention to the script and what people are saying in emotional moments music isn't needed. It can sometimes only take away from the feelings that you are ment to feel in that scene. And that is actually one of my biggest problems with this movie. THERE WAS NO IMPACT. This movie played it sooo save even after 28 other movies. They only killed Tony and Black Widow. Ofcourse Iron Man's death was expected and therefor less impactful. I do have to give credit to the execution though, i thought it was very well done and they did Iron Man a lot of justice in this movie. I loved that and i also hoped to see that.
But lets get back to the impact problem. In Many Marvel movies we expected people to die. The Avengers (possibility) Age of Ultron (Only Quicksilver what is again cheating because it made no impact again) Civil War (this could have been a masterpiece if there were bigger consequences) etc. But every time we were like: ah its ok we understand because we know Thanos is coming and he is going to truly destroy everything' Then Infinity War arrived. One of the best Marvel movies by far, but again no impact. Cause killing people with the snap and not even main character is just weak. We all know Spider-Man and Black Panther are coming back because they have there own solo films coming up. Marvel has just been a victim of the Disney effect and its keeping them down from even more potential imo. Now i know some simple fans will read this and be like: what is he talking about it had massive impact a lot of people died! but no guys, just no. Logan is a good example of a movie with real consequences. Every decision they make have a reaction. When they decide to help the family on the road and after that stay with them, they feel good and have a real family moment that they hadn't had in years. But at the same time that decision made that family a target and they eventually even get slaughterd by X-24. Also Logan decides to sacrifice himself for the new generation of mutants. He goes to the woods to fight an whole elite squad + X-24 eventhough he knows it will be his death, and eventually he does. In Endgame, the Avengers have to fight the biggest threat that the MCU has to offer, but does that really show at the end of the day? The awnser to that question is NO. They brought back every character that they killed in Infinity War (also Loki) exept for Vision. In Endgame they only really kill Iron Man, and therefor only show respect tot that character. 'but black widow died! Nobody cares that black widow died. She was just as underdevelopt as the plot of Justice League, so don't hate on DC for reasons that are just as bad for some characters with Marvel.
So consequences make it more realistic, and when a movie is more realistic its more reletable and it makes you even more invested in the characters, and therefore elevating the whole movie. Now that is why impact is so important. WE HAVE FOLLOWED THESE CHARACTERS FOR 10 YEARS. This movie is even called Endgame, like common. Imo at least Cap should have died too. Him sacrificing himself for the world, that is Captain America to the core of his characters and true fans know this. I swear i would have cried like a baby if that would have happend, but no. Disney ofcourse wants to please the children because they make them money, but it is a disrespect to the art of the content. Also i want to note that Thanos didn't even come close to the threat he was in Infinity War. I would have prefered to see a end fight with only the main Marvel characters but not a whole army, and them just taking on Thanos with the Infinity Glove (maybe missing one stone) so that you would be in constant fear of characters dying and really rooting for them. Instead they gave us a lesser and full CGI version of a LOTR battle with random beasts and armies that you will forget about in the next year.
There i said it.
People please try to be critical and not just accept everything that gets thrown at you.
conclusion: It had beautiful little moments like Tony's reunion with is father and Tony's story overall carried this movie. But it was definitly not on the level that Infinity War was. therefor i give it a 7.
